DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- Torontos Daniel Nestor and Serbian partner Nenad Zimonjic lost in the doubles final at the Dubai Championships tennis event Saturday. Alex Blandino Jersey . Nestor and Zimonjic, the tournaments top seeds, lost 6-4, 6-3 to Rohan Bopanna of India and Pakistans Asiam-Ul-Haq Qureshi. Nestor and Zimonjic beat Bopanna and Ul-Haq Qureshi in the doubles final of a tournament in Sydney last month. But they were outplayed this time by Bopanna and Ul-Haq Qureshi, who needed 68 minutes to secure the win. "They were better, we probably didnt get enough first serves in," said Nestor. "When we both had chances to play they put more pressure on us. "We just didnt play well all around." Nestor, 41, was playing in his third ATP final in five weeks, winning in Brisbane and Sydney while also earning the Australian Open mixed title with Kristina Mladenovic of France. Nestor won the Dubai title in 2002 with Mark Knowles of the Bahamas but was unable to repeat the feat 12 years later. He and Zimonjic saved three set points in the final game of the 35-minute first set. But they were finally caught by a shovelled winner down the line which ended a fierce volley duel at the net between all of the four players. Bopanna and Ul-Haq Qureshi took control of the second set with a break of Zimonjic for a 3-1 lead en route to the victory. "Weve won some matches this week so thats a good thing," said Nestor. "Doubles seems to turn on just a few points, who knows anything can happen. "We can beat anyone or lose to anyone at any time." Nestor still needs a win to move into third all-time in the post-1968 Open. He currently has 83 career wins, tied with Australian Todd Woodbridge and behind Mike Bryan (96) and Bob Bryan (94). Nestor and Zimonjic have won 25 titles together with Nestor having played in 137 doubles finals. Nick Senzel Jersey . How foolishly wrong I was. The Dynamo (11-10-7) snapped a four-game winless streak and moved past Union (10-10-9) in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. "It was huge for us," said Houstons Brad Davis, who got his team-leading seventh assist on the score. "Things havent been going the way weve wanted them to lately. It may not have been pretty, but everyone put everything they had into this game tonight. Its important for us to get three points and jump up in the standings." Clark flicked a header off a free kick from Davis for his third goal of the season. Tally Hall got his seventh shutout of the season without having to make a save. "We got a set piece and fortunately I was able to put a good ball in," Davis said. "Guys made good runs to get on the end of it. Sometimes on the road you just get a couple opportunities and we were able to score that one. It feels good." "We have to look at ourselves in the mirror and get back to work," said Union defender Amobi Okugo, who returned from serving a two-game suspension. "We have five games remaining and anything can happen. I think we need at least three wins to even have a remote chance." The Union had a goal nullified in the 30th minute when Okugo was called for being offsides. "Its a cruel game sometimes," Union manager John Hackworth said. "We cant catch a break. Thats not the reason that were sitting here feeling the way we are, but sometimes you need the ball to bounce your way a bit and not have outside factors take goals away." Philadelphia leading scorer Jack McInerney entered as a substitute for Danny Cruz in the 61st minute but went scoreless for his 12th consecutive game. Dynamo manager Dominic Kinnear and midfielder Boniek Garcia both missed the game while serving suspensions. ' ' '
